That Friday Feeling!

What a week! as i signed off the work experience guys forms, i new i could focus on the million other jobs i had to do before i joined up with everyone else in Prague.

On a lighter note i have finally posted my application for George Williams College, 4 years in the making this has been and i think a few people had given up hope of me ever applying cough-Ali Dean-cough, lets hope they accept me and my lucky streak continues!

Had a great trip to the O2 shop in Bolton today, and i fail to see how a mobile phone company who i pay every month cant help me when i have a broken media card! it has cost me money to replace a card they gave me 2 months ago. The woman in the shop then rubbed my broken media card with her scarf, telling me "this is why we have them!" if this is the case then why doesnt my mobile come with a scarf? i felt tempted to check the box but then i realised she was talking rubbish!

Great week of youth work was had by all, with one young person telling Chris Bailey he looked like my dad! (one-nil) i cant believe the numbers we are getting when the sun is cracking the flags, just short of 50 youth in Thursday night! great work from the stretched but quality youth team!

I will sign off with some advice, while at work today a user group informed me that the sink in the basement was blocked. Thinking im superman i went to sort this out, armed with a plunger! a whole 30 minutes later i realised the sink had been unplugged (before any smart arse comments, its a Basement and its actually the pump to the sink that needs to be plugged in) not only had i wasted time and energy plunging but the solution had been so simple if i had stopped and checked it out instead of running in, I would have seen it stright away. As David the handy man said to me "it usually is the simplest thing!"

Cheers Dave! tell me that before next Time!

Keep it Real folks, love from Tonge Shore

Its only Wednesday!

Sat here at my desk with paperwork to the left and a list of people to call back to the right! I have hardly had a minute to think about Prague this week as I have 3 work experience students with me, one of which has just asked for another "fag break"

I remember receiving the email from Ken M about the conference and feeling very excited and intrigued about what would take place, I remember the great feeling at being picked and the devastated look on my colleagues faces as they realised I was off again! Our small team already stretched by staff off sick and here I was jetting off....again.

I have a few more days before I travel by myself for the first time to meet others from the movement, for me this opportunity is the reward for the last 7 years I have put into my local YMCA, it is a chance to put Bolton on the map and a chance to better myself and learn more about this great movement, the people in it and its fantastic work!
